Ports are bench’s defaults and move up by one for each extra bench on the same machine. Frappe Cloud and Docker run the same processes, packaged differently.
Frappe is a web framework: users, permissions, forms, the database layer, email, printing and the API. ERPNext is an app built on it that adds accounting, stock, buying, selling and manufacturing. You cannot run ERPNext without Frappe.
Yes. The Frappe Framework is MIT licensed and ERPNext is GPL v3. Both are developed in the open on GitHub by Frappe Technologies and contributors.
Not any more. Employees are in ERPNext, but salary slips, leave and payroll are in Frappe HR, a separate app installed on the same site.
For version 16, Frappe’s install guide lists Python 3.14, Node 24, MariaDB 11.8 and Redis, with Nginx in front. Bench then runs the web server, workers, scheduler and Socket.IO.
They run jobs off the request so nobody waits: sending email, data imports, prepared reports and scheduled jobs. If they stop, those jobs pile up in the queue.
We set up and look after ERPNext on Frappe Cloud or your own server — sized, backed up and monitored. Talk to a consultant.
