A guest asks for fresh towels. In most hotels that request travels by phone, then radio, then memory. FineStay built the software to route it straight to the right person — and Acube built it for them.

Hotels run on small requests: an extra pillow, a room cleaned early, a tap that drips. When those requests go through the front desk by phone and then out to staff by radio, some arrive late, some arrive garbled, and some never arrive. The guest only knows they asked and nothing happened.
That was the problem FineStay set out to solve. FineStay is a hotel workforce management and guest-request software company in Australia. In the hotels it serves, requests were handled by phone and radio and responses to guests were slow — and FineStay had no in-house development team to build the product.
Acube built FineStay's core product — the whole platform — on Android, iOS and the web: guest requests from a phone or QR code, tasks routed to a staff app, staff scheduling and shifts, and a manager dashboard with SLAs, in Flutter / native mobile, React / Angular and Node / Python / Java. The result: faster response to guests. Acube worked on the product for several years, starting before 2019.

FineStay's customers had an operational problem; FineStay had a building problem.
Hotels passed guest requests from the front desk to staff by phone and radio.
Requests were delayed or forgotten along the way.
FineStay needed engineers to build the product that would fix it.
The cost of staying as-is: in a hotel, a request that goes unanswered is remembered longer than a stay that went well — and a review is written about it.
The full platform: how guests ask, how staff receive and complete the work, and how managers see it.
| Capability | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Guest requests from phone / QR | Guests ask for housekeeping, towels or anything else from their phone, by scanning a QR code. |
| Tasks routed to a staff app | Each request goes straight to the right member of staff — housekeeping, maintenance and so on. |
| Staff scheduling & shifts | Rosters and shifts managed in the same platform. |
| Manager dashboard & SLAs | Managers see response times and performance against service levels. |
| Android, iOS and web | Apps for staff and guests on any phone, and a web dashboard. |
| Flutter / native, React / Angular, Node / Python / Java | The mobile, web and back-end stack the product is built on. |
FineStay didn't give us a response-time figure, so we are not quoting one. The outcome it named:
The product removes the steps where requests got lost. A request that used to pass through guest → phone → front desk → radio → staff now goes guest → app → staff. Every request becomes a task with an owner. Because it is recorded, the manager dashboard can measure how fast each one was handled — which is what turns "slow response" from a complaint into a number that can be managed.
Putting scheduling and shifts in the same platform matters too: a task can only be routed to someone who is on duty. And building on Android, iOS and the web meant the product works on the phones hotel staff and guests already carry. Acube worked on FineStay over several years — long enough to take the product from build through customisation and support. Acube has been in business since 2011, and 70% of our work comes by referral.
Having Acube build a product like FineStay's makes sense when:
You have a software product to build and no in-house team.
working together.
who will customise and support the product after launch.
Android, iOS and browsers.
whose steps you can map.
If that fits, the right place to start is the process your product replaces: who asks, who acts, and who needs to see it.
See what it would cost — Answer a few plain questions about how you work, and see a real figure.
From their phone, by scanning a QR code.
It is routed as a task to the staff app, to the right person.
