Type a code, check it, then print a sheet or save one label. Nothing leaves this page.
In ERPNext: Item › Barcodes
Print at 100% with page margins set to none, so the labels line up with the sheet.
Sales invoices, delivery notes, receipts, stock entries and stock counts have a Scan Barcode box. ERPNext looks the scan up in this order:
Item barcode
The code in an item’s Barcodes table — fills the item, and its unit if one is set.
Serial number
Fills the item and that serial number.
Batch number
Fills the item and that batch.
Warehouse
A warehouse name sets the warehouse.
The item code itself is not looked up, so print the code from the item’s Barcodes table. One barcode can belong to only one item.
In the Barcodes table on the Item: the barcode, its type and, optionally, the unit it stands for. One barcode can belong to only one item.
With a Barcode Type set, ERPNext checks the digits. For EAN and UPC the last digit is a check digit worked out from the others; this tool tells you what it should be.
Yes. ERPNext has no Code 128 type, so save the code with Barcode Type left empty, which stores it without the digit check.
Not by itself. A scan is looked up as an item barcode, then a serial number, a batch and a warehouse. Add the code to the item’s Barcodes table to scan it.
Retail barcodes come from GS1 India, which issues numbers starting 890 to its members. For your own shelves and stores, any code you choose works.
We set up item barcodes, label print formats and scanners at the counter and in the warehouse. Talk to a consultant.
