In a city where taxis are hailed on the street or booked by phone, nobody knows where the drivers are, fares are worked out on the spot, and cash changes hands with no record. A taxi company that wants to do better needs the whole system: a way to book, a way to dispatch, a way to pay — and a back office that keeps the drivers, the vehicles and the money straight.
That was the starting point for Jambo City Taxi in Guinea. As a new business with no platform, rides came by phone or street hail, there was no live view of drivers, and fares and payments were manual.
Acube built Jambo City Taxi a rider app, a driver app, an admin and dispatch panel, and an ERPNext back office, on Android and iOS, in French and English. Riders see the fare upfront, pay by cash or mobile money, and have ratings and trip history. ERPNext handles accounts and driver payouts, fleet and vehicle records, driver onboarding and documents, and management reports. App bookings went live, dispatch sees every driver, payments are tracked automatically, and the business launched and grew. The project ran between 2022 and 2024.

Jambo City Taxi needed everything a modern taxi company runs on, all at once.
There was no app to book a ride.
The business couldn't see where its drivers were.
Fares were worked out and collected by hand.
The apps, the dispatch and the back office all had to be built.
The cost of staying as-is: a taxi service that can't see its drivers can't dispatch them well, and one that can't track its payments can't settle with them fairly.
Four parts working as one platform: for the rider, the driver, the dispatcher and the back office.
| Capability | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Rider app | Riders book a taxi from their phone. |
| Fare shown upfront | Riders see the fare before they book. |
| Cash + mobile money | Riders pay in cash or by mobile money. |
| Ratings & trip history | Riders rate drivers and see their past trips. |
| Driver app | Drivers receive and complete trips. |
| Admin / dispatch panel | Dispatch sees drivers and manages trips. |
| ERPNext back office | Accounts and driver payouts, fleet and vehicle records, driver onboarding and documents, and management reports. |
| Android & iOS, French & English | Apps on both platforms, in both languages. |
Jambo City Taxi didn't give us ride or driver numbers, so we are not quoting any. All four of these happened:
Riders book through the app.
Dispatch sees every driver.
Less cash confusion, and a record of every fare.
Jambo City Taxi started and expanded its operations.
The decision that set this project apart was putting ERPNext behind the apps from the start. Many taxi apps stop at booking and dispatch, leaving the business to run payouts, vehicle records and driver documents in spreadsheets. Here, the apps are backed by an ERPNext back office that handles driver payouts, fleet records, driver onboarding and documents and reports. Running the company is part of the platform, not an afterthought.
Two local choices mattered just as much. French and English made the apps usable for riders and drivers in Guinea. Cash and mobile money matched how people there actually pay. Showing the fare upfront tells the rider the price before the ride. We have built taxi platforms before — see Kera Cabs — and 70% of our work comes by referral.
A platform like Jambo City Taxi's is worth considering when:
and need apps, dispatch and back office together.
, not only by card.
Your apps must work in more than one language.
are kept by hand.
without compiling them yourself.
If that's your situation, start with the trip: how a rider books, how a driver is assigned, how the fare is paid and how the driver is settled. Every part of the platform follows from it.
