A grocery delivery service needs a lot before it can deliver a single bag: a catalogue customers can browse, a way to order and pay, a way to get each order to a driver, and a place for the team to manage products, prices and stock. Without them, there is no business to launch.
That was the starting point for Kera Cares, a grocery delivery service in Kerala. It was a new business with no platform.
Acube built Kera Cares a customer app for ordering, a web store, a driver / delivery app and an admin dashboard, with online payment and cash on delivery. Kera Cares launched online on the platform. The project was delivered before 2019.

Kera Cares didn't have an old system to replace. It had a business to start.
The cost of staying as-is: a delivery business without a platform can only take orders it can answer by phone — which caps it before it starts.
Everything a grocery delivery service needs to open, built as one platform.
| Capability | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Customer app for ordering | Customers browse, fill a cart and check out on their phone. |
| Web store | The same ordering on the web. |
| Driver / delivery app | Drivers receive their deliveries on an app. |
| Admin dashboard | The team manages products, prices, orders and stock. |
| Online payment + cash on delivery | Customers pay online or on delivery. |
Kera Cares didn't give us order numbers, so we are not quoting any. The outcome that mattered at the start:
Because Kera Cares was starting from nothing, the platform could be designed as one system rather than assembled from separate tools. The customer app and web store take the order; the admin dashboard is where the team prepares it and manages the catalogue and stock; the driver app takes it to the door. It is the same order at each stage, so nothing has to be copied from one system into another.
Offering both online payment and cash on delivery from launch meant customers didn't have to change how they like to pay to try a new service. We have built grocery and delivery platforms for other businesses too — see BigBuket — and 70% of our work comes by referral.
A platform like Kera Cares' is worth considering when:
and need the whole platform before you can open.
You want customers to order on an app and the web.
Your drivers need their deliveries on a phone.
as well as online payment.
to manage products, prices, stock and orders.
If you're at that point, start with your catalogue and your delivery area. They shape most of the platform.
