Self-drive rental customers don't keep office hours. They plan trips late at night and change plans at the weekend. When every booking must come by phone or WhatsApp, the office can only take the bookings it's awake for — and when the bookings are written in a register, sooner or later two people are promised the same car.
That was the situation at Sach Carz, a self-drive car rental business in Kerala. Bookings came only by phone and WhatsApp, customers had no way to see which cars were free, bookings were kept in manual records, and there were double bookings.
Acube built Sach Carz a web platform with online car booking, online payment, ID and licence upload, and an admin for the fleet and bookings — and customised and supported it for a period after launch. Bookings now come in around the clock, the team handles fewer calls, double bookings have stopped, and bookings went up. The project was delivered before 2019.
