The first serious arrivals of the season reach a godown near Trikaripur on a Tuesday. Each lot is weighed at the gate and entered against the seller who brought it, with the advance he already holds shown on the same screen. By afternoon the day's intake is a figure rather than a guess, and the drying yard's capacity is planned against it. A buyer in Karnataka orders two lots; the invoice raises itself with interstate tax and the e-way bill prints with the lorry number. In the evening the owner sees what came in, what went out and what he owes, on one screen, without ringing anyone.
Walk into a processing unit outside Kasaragod town or a copra godown at Kanhangad and the arrangement is familiar: purchase slips in a bound book, accounts in Tally at the auditor's pace, stock known only to the man holding the key. It works while the owner is present daily. It fails when a second unit opens or a buyer wants a statement the same afternoon.

Coconut, arecanut and raw nut arrive from a long list of small sellers, each with advances and part payments. Recorded as purchase receipts with supplier ledgers, every lot carries a weight, a rate and a balance, and nobody argues over a torn slip at season end.
Much of what leaves the district goes north into Karnataka, which means IGST invoices and e-way bills as routine work. Set up correctly, the tax follows the customer's state and the e-way bill is raised from the same delivery note.
A processor knows roughly what a bag of raw nut should give, but rarely what it did give last month. Batch entries recording input, output and by-product make outturn a report that can be read in the season it matters.
