Field staff capture GPS-tagged data on a phone and it appears on the central map.

A society procuring coconut and arecanut from members across Vellarikundu or Manjeshwaram taluk has addresses, not locations. Plotting member plots shows where collection routes are wasteful, where a new collection point belongs and which areas a crop disease is moving through.
Paper survey forms are filled in the field and typed up weeks later, with errors. A mobile capture tool records the point, photographs and attributes on site, works without signal, and syncs to the map when the surveyor is back in range.
