Yes. Buying and selling rates are entered per transaction or kept in dated price lists, so each lot carries the rate it was bought at. Stock valuation and margin reports then reflect real purchase cost and not an average somebody worked out at month end.
Tally keeps good books but it does not run the counter, the godown or the workshop. ERPNext does the accounts as well, with GST returns data, e-invoice and TDS, and ties them to stock and sales. Ledgers, opening balances and outstanding bills are moved across and reconciled with your accountant.
