Asset-heavy organisations are everywhere in Chennai. Hospitals hold large numbers of biomedical devices that move between wards. An example
Tuesday is verification day at a biotech company in TICEL Bio Park, with the auditors due at the end of the month. The lab manager walks the floors with a handheld reader, and each tagged instrument, from the centrifuges to the freezers, reports itself into ERPNext as she passes. By mid-morning the exceptions list is short: one analyser has moved to the second floor without a transfer note, and one balance is due for calibration next week. She raises the transfer from the handheld and the maintenance task is already in the technician's queue. In the afternoon the finance head runs the depreciation for the quarter, category by category, and it posts to the ledger. The register the auditors will see is the same one the lab uses every day.
