If the office server fails, billing, accounts and years of records stop together. Moving to cloud hosting with automated daily backups kept in a second location means a hardware fault becomes an inconvenience measured in hours.
Showrooms and depots outside the city often connect to a head-office machine over an unreliable link. A cloud-hosted web application gives every branch the same speed through an ordinary browser, and staff can work from a phone when needed.

An example
A small engineering unit at the West Hill estate has run its accounts and ERPNext on a desktop in the manager's cabin for years. On a Saturday afternoon the last invoice is raised on it. That evening the Kochi operations team restores the tested backup to a cloud environment sized for the unit's actual load, checks the print formats and the GST settings, and switches the address. On Sunday the manager logs in from home over his phone's data connection and sees Friday's stock, and so does the accountant who visits only twice a week. On Monday the supervisor at the Ramanattukara branch opens the same system in a browser instead of the remote desktop that used to freeze. The old machine is wiped and kept as a spare. Backups now go to a second region each night.
