The engineer picks up his day's calls on the phone before he leaves home, because the app has already downloaded them. At the first unit in the granite belt he photographs a worn bearing, records the reading, and marks the job pending for a spare. There is no signal inside the shed, so the entry waits on the phone and uploads itself when he walks out to the yard. His second call is a warranty visit, and the app shows the machine's history from the last engineer. At the third he collects a cheque and issues a receipt from the same screen. The service manager, watching from the office, sees the day fill in without ringing anyone.
