The accounts PC doubles as the server, sits under a desk, and has a backup on a pen drive in the same drawer. A cloud server with automated off-site backups that are regularly restore-tested removes that single point of failure.
Many estate and resort owners live in Kochi, Kottayam or abroad and visit monthly. With a local server they see figures only when someone emails a report. On the cloud they log in from anywhere and see today's position.

An example
A thunderstorm rolls over the cardamom belt on a Tuesday afternoon and the power goes at a curing and grading unit in the Rajakumari industrial estate. The office UPS lasts twenty minutes and then the screens go dark. Nobody panics. The unit's ERPNext runs on a managed cloud server, so nothing on the premises holds the books. The supervisor keeps entering the afternoon's grading on his phone over mobile data, the owner in Kattappana checks the day's intake as usual, and when the lights return the office logs back in exactly where it left off. The night's backup runs in a data centre far from the storm, and the restore test scheduled for the month has already passed.
A migration is planned around a quiet weekend. We take a full copy, build the new environment, test it with your staff, then switch over and keep the old system untouched until you are satisfied. Everything is done remotely by our Kochi cloud team. For Idukki clients we also review the premises' connectivity and suggest a backup link, since the cloud is only as useful as your route to it.
