Many resorts and boat operators run a separate booking sheet and re-enter totals into the accounts later. A custom booking document holds dates, boat or room, guest, agent, advance and balance, and raises the invoice itself, so the books and the booking chart can never disagree.
Seafood processors buy by species, grade and count per kilo, and yield changes at every step from peeling to freezing. Custom fields on purchase and production documents carry those attributes through, so a yield report is drawn from real entries and not from a supervisor's register.
Discounts to travel agents, credit to a regular buyer or an urgent spare for a stranded boat are often approved in a chat nobody can find later. A workflow with roles and limits records who approved what, and sends the alert to the right phone.
An example
A bell-metal workshop in Mannar takes an order for a set of temple lamps on Tuesday. The custom order screen records the alloy, the height of each lamp and the estimated finished weight, because the price is settled per kilogram and the final figure is known only after casting and polishing. As the pieces come off the lathe, the craftsman's assistant weighs each one and enters it; the sale invoice is built from the actual weights, with the advance already adjusted. A rejected casting goes back to the furnace as recorded scrap. The owner sees the metal consumed against the metal issued for the order, a comparison the workshop never had before those fields were added.
