Healthcare and hospitals

Equipment is scrapped, shifted between units or handed to staff with no entry made, so the books still carry machines that no longer exist. A quarterly tag scan checked against the register brings the two back together and gives the auditor something verifiable.
Machines break under peak load because a service was skipped. Scheduled maintenance raises the task ahead of its due date, records what was done and what it cost, and shows which asset is becoming dearer to keep than to replace.
AMC renewals, warranty periods and insurance cover sit in files nobody opens until a claim is refused. Held on the asset record with reminders, they surface while the cover is still live.

It is Thursday, the shed at West Hill is between orders, and the supervisor takes the scanner round. Every lathe, welding set and compressor carries a label. He walks the bays, scans, and the tablet marks off what it finds. Two records stay unread: a grinder lent to a job at Feroke and a compressor sold last year that nobody removed from the books. He raises a custody transfer for the first and a disposal for the second. At the head office the accounts clerk sees both, the depreciation schedule adjusts itself, and the fitter's phone lists the presses due for service next week.
