Route salesmen write orders in a book and phone them in at night. The lorry loads a day late. A van sales app shows the outlet's price list, outstanding amount and past orders, takes the order on the spot and sends it to the ERP before the salesman reaches the next shop.
Growers supplying mills and producer companies want to know one thing: when is my payment coming. A simple farmer app or portal in Malayalam shows quantity delivered, deductions and payment status, and takes that daily flood of calls off the office phone.
Dispatch staff learn of a delivery problem when the vehicle comes back. A driver app records pickup, arrival, photos of the unloaded goods and the receiver's signature with time and place. The customer can be informed at once and the invoice raised the same day.
An example
A snack maker's van leaves its Ottapalam depot on a Tuesday morning loaded against the previous day's orders. At the first bakery the salesman opens the app, sees the shop's outstanding amount and takes today's order in a minute. It lands in ERPNext as a sales order while he is still on the doorstep. Along the Bharathapuzha road to Pattambi the signal drops; the app keeps working and syncs at the next town. By early afternoon the supervisor in Ottapalam sees which shops were visited, which were skipped and what was collected. The godown starts picking tomorrow's load before the van turns for home.
