A finance company learns that a branch's collections have slipped when the monthly statement arrives. A daily dashboard of disbursals, collections and overdue by branch shows the slide in its first week, while a phone call can still correct it.

At seven on a Monday the chairman of a Thrissur family group opens the dashboard on his phone over coffee.
