An example
At an electronics assembly unit in the Kushaiguda belt the quality head arrives to a customer complaint about intermittent failures in a shipped lot. Answering it used to mean a junior pulling test logs, supplier certificates and line photographs from three shared drives over two days. Now she types the lot number and the symptom into an assistant that has read every test record and certificate the unit has stored. It returns the relevant logs, the supplier batch for the suspect component, and the two earlier lots that showed the same pattern, each with its source document. By lunch she has a reply for the customer and a hold on the component. The model decided nothing; it found what a person needed in an hour.

Often, yes. Language and document models need far less of your own data than older machine-learning methods did. Forecasting does need some history. A short data assessment at the start tells you what is feasible now and what needs better record-keeping first.
