Suppliers in the auto components cluster lose track of bins, pallets and trolleys between their dock and the customer's line. Tagged bins read at dispatch and at return show which customer holds how many and for how long, and the replacement budget shrinks.
A full physical count in a finished-goods store can take days, during which picking slows. With tagged cartons, a handheld sweep counts a rack in minutes and the variance list is ready immediately. Counting becomes a weekly habit instead of a yearly event.
Logistics yards near the ports misplace trailers, gensets and handling gear across large, changing sites. Rugged tags and readers at gates and zones record last-seen location, saving the search time and the rentals paid for equipment that was there all along.
An example
Tuesday afternoon at a pressing and welding unit in the Ambattur estate, and the second shift is taking over the dispatch dock. A truck backs in to collect finished brackets for a vehicle plant. As the forklift carries each stack of tagged steel bins through the dock door, the fixed Zebra reader logs them without anyone raising a scanner, and ERPNext builds the delivery note from the reads. On the return leg, the empties come back through the same door and the system nets them off against what the customer holds. In stores, a supervisor walks a rack of tagged cartons with a handheld and the count is done before the tea break. The evening report shows bins held by each customer.

Yes, with the right tags. Standard labels fail on metal, so we use on-metal tags and test placement during the survey. Read rates on steel bins, racks and machines are verified in the pilot before tags are bought in volume.
Barcodes work well when items are scanned one at a time at a fixed point. RFID earns its place where there are many items, fast movement or no line of sight. Many Madras warehouses sensibly run both, with barcodes on low-value stock.
Yes. Reads are filtered by our middleware and posted to ERPNext as stock entries, transfers or asset movements. For other ERPs we integrate through their APIs, so the floor and the books show one figure.
